Custom Synit Deepshot 150 & 350, Enjoy the scenery!

Going to keep the text low and just let you enjoy the pictures. The rods are so light, almost like a feather. I felt that my old rod the Super Seeker Hercules 60H was light..(it is) but these are even lighter.

I love them. Can't wait to try them out.

So here they are enjoy.

Custom Elite Synit Deepshot 350 (Name: Strumpan) and Custom Elite Synit Deepshot 150 (Name: Pricken).

Added pictures of them mounted aswell and I am sorry that some of the pictures does not come in order. But the DS350 is the one in Black/Red/Gold the DS150 is the one in Silver/Purple/White colors.

Shiny!!!! Me like!

I guess I am a real sucker for accessories when it comes to fishing.. So here is another one!

I decided to take it in purple since I have not seen many use that color. How do you guys like it? :D

It is Jigging Masters cheapest belt, I decided to go with their small gimbal pin belt. Since gimbal is what I currently got on my rod and I do not have a Popper rod yet so no real use for a rubber gimbal belt yet.

Also I know we do not have all that much "big" fish in Scandinavia where you will actually need a belt. But lets say that really big one comes on and you fight it for quite long period of time.. might feel reassuring to have a belt in the boat. Plus I know, this will come to good use on my future trips to other remote locations in the world.

It feels light and steady. I like the comfort. Oh I forgot to mention that the belt in the background is bought as an extra, it is not included with the belt. It is a back support belt also from Jigging Master.

Shortie, but goodie! until next time, BLING BLING.

Bag me up, Scotty!

So basically something I figured out a long time ago is that you can't really find the bags you are looking for on the Swedish market. The bags out there are either adapted to fly fishing / fly fishing reels or pike fishing. Nothing for the one looking for smart bags to travel with and save your expensive fishing reels at the same time.

You might think it sounds like an easy task, Hey go find a bag to put your reels and jig in? How hard can it be? It is in noway an easy task, let me tell you that much!

So after alot of research I have found two bags that I am very very satisfied with, Both arrived last week.

One of the bags is a reel storage bag of medium size for up to 4 reels. The other is a jig storage bag for your normal flat side jigs.

Both are built extremely well, robust construction and with very nice design aswell.

Here is a picture on both of the bags on the same picture.

So what do we got?

1. First bag from left side is a HOTS Tackle Bag Size Medium.
2. Second bag from the left side is a Jigging Master Detachable Jig Bag

So lets discuss whats good about the first bag? Well first of all it's made of a very robust outer material plus its waterproof, the seams seem very good and there is no parts that can easily break. Its quite light in weight and the good stuff comes when we open the bag to look inside.

There is a small pocket where you can load up all your reel tools, grease, screwdrivers, rod holders etc. Fits perfectly. What you see below is my 4 reels that is now covered with two isolating pillows that you can place where you want sice they are made with velcro on the sides and so is the bag. They seem to isolate very good from damage and bounces. The bag comes with a total of three customizable pillows. I placed one in the middle between my two set of reels and the other two ontop of each side to reduce vibration.

This is how it looks with both of the small pillows moved up. Very nice bag overall! I got mine from Kilsong at his site, jignpop.com.

Up next is the jig bag from Jigging Master.

If there is anything bad to say about this bag, it would be that it is a little heavy from the start. Even without it filled of jigs!

However the construction and quality of the bag easily makes up for that. This is one of the most well thought bags I have ever seen. Its made out of quality rubber materials making it tough. It also has velcro inside of it so if you wanna remove one of the jig (pages) you can, reason I am saying pages is that it is like a book where you can fold between the different pages.

The entire jig bag contains four full pages of spots for jigs. I managed to fit 20 quality jigs in it plus four in the front pocket.

I think this bag is worth it, if you already did spend a couple of hundred dollars on your jigs you do not want them to get scratched and destroyed due to bad handling.

So this is my tip to you guys, even there is no one listening just yet ;) These two bags are great if you are looking for the same thing I was.

Have a nice day all you fishermen out there.

21 days to go.. Vaeroy.

Almost there...

This post means two things.. Almost there, we leave the 7th of April.. only 24 days left before we sit in the car driving up to Bodo and then taking the boat to Vaeroy.

Second thing! My Synit rods are almost complete the last update is that the silicon inlays is supposed to be dried and finished and the rods will be shipped on Thursday. Graeme took some pictures , the rods ain't finished at these pictures and they are still a little blurry since they keep spinning on the drying rack.

Let me present a sneak peak on DS150 Pricken (The Dot) and DS350 Strumpan (The Sock).

Graeme even was nice enough to give his last example of a limited edition of the DS350, it sounds great. Hear his response. I must say its been a pleasure working together with Synit in crafting these two fishing rods. I can recommend them warmly.

Hi Marcus,
Thanks for the address, here are a few pic's of the two rods sorry the focus is a bit out on some but they were spinning at a speed where the camera had trouble foucusing. We have one coat left to go on Pricken and possibly two on Strumpan. The weather is limiting us to one coat a day so it will be the weekend before we can do the inlays on the grip grooves.

I should have done a few more of the limited edition DS350 blanks as they are slimmer than the standard DS350 blank and feel really nice when loaded up. You have a true one off rod in Strumpan as it is the last of the 10 limited edition DS350 blanks we did. I may use the same special carbon wrap when we do a limited edition of the 2012 Synit Kaha Espada jigging rods

Thanks
Graeme

So I hope you enjoy the pictures. I will take some on my own once I receive the rods here in Sweden.

Over and out!

Nothing feels as good as homemade!

So I finnaly decided to make my own assist hooks. The ones you buy sometimes feel to short and they aint protected enough. I must say im very happy with the results :), can't beat the feeling of having made them on ur own.

So this is my attempt using the easiest knot I have seen out there for making assist hooks.

All you need is a heatgun ( lighter?), shrink tubing, kevlar cord and obviously some hooks!

My choice was the cheapest possible heatgun I could find, some tubing that was cheap aswell (make sure you do not buy them to small, I think i took the ones around 6.4mm) . Then I went with Jigging Master monster hooks size 11 and YGK Galis Ultra Knot, kevlar cord size 30 (250 pound).

So step one, showing you the tools of the trade.

Here comes the second picture, I tried to make like a timeline so you can see the different steps to make them.

Basically all you do is make a simple overhand knot on the kevlar cord, make sure you stick the hook in from the top of the loop.

Then just tighten it and take the loop through the eye of the hook and tighten a bit.

Then put the shrinking tube on from the top, this is the trickiest part to making these assist hooks and sometimes it got extremely frustrating :) So be prepared for that, and a word of a advice, the hooks are razor sharp so be careful!

Last one on the right is the finished assist hook!

And yes... Down below is my work of art! They are all seeing the water soon only 26 days to go!
