Norway trip with the ladies...

So as the header says! Me and my friend managed to convince our girlfriends to come along on the fishing trip to Norway this year.

The destination was once again to sjybrygga.no / Vaeroy.  We went one week in June 2013. This was a little earlier than I had hoped but we made the booking quite late so Vidar did not have any other open spots.

The trip was great overall and everyone got alot of fish, I am especially happy about my friend that got his first halibut around 18kg and my girlfriend that got both a pollack on about 11kg and a cod on around 15kg. It was so amazing to see her fight those fishes , the battle was truely epic! :)

I will simply give you guys some pictures from trip! Enjoy.

A ownerless cat that I really fell in love with, he loved raw fish!

The two couples!

This is how happy you can be when scoring your first big cod!! Girl power!

My girlfriend with her 11kg pollack, what you can't see in the picture is how pissed she really is about having the hold the slimy fish :D She was stoked and she demanded that she both took it out of the water alone, killed it and took out the fillets when we got back to the harbour! Really proud of her! :D

The cat!

We met alot of new friends on the trip and we also celebrated midsummers eve ala Swedish style! This was one of the last days of the trip! And the trip had a really happy ending!

Recap 2012 Part 2

It's funny how when I say the recap would come next week, a week turns into a month and one month turns into several again...

However that does not mean I have been lazy, I have actually been doing so much research and equipment gathering for my coming two fishing trips that even a hamster storing goodies in his nest would be jealous. But it's not an easy task to get all the stuff you need, it's not like it's available on the Swedish market, or in most cases even Europe.

So I have been doing alot of shopping through myus from Saltywater tackle, lots of Ebay shopping and ofcourse waiting for my most precious hand made rods from Synit in New Zealand.

So as promised here is a few pictures of the other part of the trip. I will not go into detail about them but simply just post some beautiful scenery. I will talk more about the gear later on!

But a hint for my upcoming trips......November, Africa.... Tanz..., Latham island with the Saltywater tackle crew and ofcouse with Sami! He seems like a well respected fishermen and proves himself over and over at different fishing locations all over the world. So the trip will be a great chance for me to learn some tricks of the trade from the stuff of legends.

The other one is the home of the Kiwi and also the home of my family of rods.. Such a reunion ;) Synit lives on this beautiful island. I am going there with a group of fishermen from Australia to fish onboard the Enchanter and the destination is Three kings. This trip is going to take place in April 2014. I hope I get alot of practice on some nice species such as Hapuka and kingfish.

So heres is the pictures finnaly..less talk!

My dad below and my cousins dad on the picture above, ready for take off on the helicopter on the way to Vaeroy.

Some pictures from the helicopter from Bodo and the archipelago on the way out to Vaeroy.

This is the helicopter that takes passengers by air instead of the ferry out to Vaeroy.

Here is some pictures of Sjybrygga and the harbour on Vaeroy. You can also see a few of the boats from the camp! They are really nice.

End of the first day is celebrated with a nice meal and a few beers and some cognac.

Weighing some of the catch on one of the days. It's heavier work than it seems :D

Here is also one example how it can look in the boat during the days on the ocean! I promise that the driver is definately not the drinker!

Two pictures of my dad to celebrate his 60th birthday. His first pollack!

Grats dad on your 60th year birthday!

But for last I was saving this really odd catch I got ;) Double up.. Can you see what species?
